The last 7 days have been really strange for me.
It’s the first time since going full time, to actually really take time off. I did not post anything on Substack or LinkedIn, I did zero outreach, I did not check my emails.
It seems so strange, because I pride myself on being in charge of my own time as a solopreneur. Somehow I must have missed the part in which this business is such an integral part of my life that it’s really omnipresent.
Initially it felt really self indulgent and kinda guilty to do no work at all. Simultaneously I could feel that my mind and body really needed it. Slowly the guilt gave way to relaxation.
That’s one of the many things I appreciate as the new year starts.
I’ll keep this post short - it’s about saying Thank You.
Thank you for being part of my journey in the last year! Thank you for entrusting your story with me, thank you for cheering me on, for referring me, for helping out. Thank you for showing up, for leaning in, for stepping across the chasm.
Thank you for your authenticity an depth and in return allowing me to be authentic and deep. Thank you for sharing the wins and the failures. Thank you for the shared vulnerability and humanity.
Onwards into another amazing year of being fully alive.
I’ll finish with a Dostoevsky quote I really like
“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
