I love looking back as well. From time to time my wife and I love to watch pictures we had taken years ago (instead of watching the tv). The 10 years span is a bit special for us, because a little more than 10 years ago we got married for the second time – reunited after a split of about 7 years – and today both of us look at this as the best thing ever...

Thank you for sharing, Roland. I love your idea of "slideshow" vs. "TV" - there is something grounding and balancing in looking back and reminiscing a little.

Your story is special - and it's great that you found back to the person you are meant to be with. Which anniversary are you celebrating? ;)

We were a couple since October 1982, married for the first time July 4th, 1986 („Millions of Americans celebrating THAT day!“ ;-)

Separated by the end of 2005, but did not file for divorce. Did so in 2012, had a court meeting in May 2012, but some documents were missing. In November we reunited, but the very same morning after we had chosen to move in together again, we received a letter „You are now divorced!“ Hummmm... trying to avoid that would have cost 2,400 € – so we accepted and filed for a second marriage the following summer. Again it was July 4th (again millions of Americans were celebrating... ;-), so last summer we had the 10th anniversary of being married for the second time and the 37th of being married for the first time. Once our daughter asked us „How do you calculate your anniversaries? Accumulated »net« years, starting 1986 or 2013?“ My wife always answers „The time we are having right now is twice as good – that equals the »gap« easily...“
